Medical Management with Prescription Medication

Our medical management team will work with you and your insurance company to devise the best treatment plan for glaucoma. Whether we prescribe eye drops, laser treatment procedures, or surgery, our intended goal is to decrease eye pressure and, thereby, protect the optic nerve.

Prescription eye drops are often the first choice for treating patients. For some patients, a combination of prescription eye drops, and laser treatment can safely control eye pressure for years. Our medical management team will work with you to decide if prescription eye drops work into your schedule (you remember to use them), are affordable, and can handle any side effects.

For patients who cannot tolerate the prescription eye drop or for whom this medication alone has not been adequate, laser treatment continues to be an excellent alternative.
