Dr. Vahjen is a native of Greenwood. He joined the Greenwood Eye Clinic, P.A. in 2010. He earned his Bachelor of Science (Suma Cum Laude) from Lander University and his Doctor of Medicine (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of South Carolina Medical School in Columbia, SC. Dr. Vahjen completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of South Carolina.

He was a standout soccer player at Lander University. He earned the Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award in the Peach Belt Conference during his senior year. Dr. Vahjen and his wife, Lauren, have three children. Undergraduate: Lander University
